I would check the basics beginning with soil. Maybe it needs lighter soil. Let the plant dry out a little and shake off as much of the old soil as possible. Repot it is lighter soil. The leaves are a little turned down, maybe too much light. Girl leaves, this looks like a girl to me, like less light. That would be my best 1st guess.

I have one that is similar, but the leaves are not turned down. She just finished blooming tons. Some violets like to rest before blooming again.

Here is another guess. Can't really tell but the center leaves look like they are "tight" Are there a lot of plant hairs? If yet that and the turned down leaves may mean bugs. I would isolate; try the repotting; and if it doesn't perk up spray it with insectisidal soap with neem.

Good luck

Hi Starfly and Nan,

Nan do you think if she changed the soil into a lighter soil and dome it would help? I have done that with some droopers and it seemed to help.

If you don't have anything to dome it with, just put it into a clear plastic bag.

Thanks a lot, i took and unpotted it when i did some of the leaves just fell off,,the soil around it was just damp but when i took off old soil the roots was really wet.
and ithad a lot of long roots so i cleaned it all up and dryed it as good as i could then repotted like you said.will put it off by self,i have had it under the lights ,you think thats to much light.no it don,t have a lot of hair in middle

what is insectisidal soap with neem. is that like the one far out doors.
thanks far all your help

If you don't have hairs in the middle don't do anything else right now. Let it dry out. Sounds like the roots got too wet. Give it a day or two and see what happens with the new soil.

Good luck. I use insectisidal soap for indoor plants. Doesn't have to have neem but the one I use does.

Good Luck Eunice
Looked like heavy damp soil heading toward root rot. Might also lighten up on fertilizer and light. Girl leaves like low light . Everything Nanna said and you did your plant is on it's way to recovery :))

Hi starfly,
Your sad 'little girl' is way overpotted. I would lift it from it's pot and remove all the mucky soil and repot in fresh potting soil in a smaller pot more in keeping with the plant size. Where did you get your plant? Bluebird's? I know they ship everything in 4" pots....even small starters. Good general rule of thumb is pot size should be about 1/3 the leaf span. Good luck with your plant and I hope she'll be doing better for you soon :0)

Eunice the leaves might be drooping from the trans-plant . Sometimes bagging the plants for a week or two to help with the shark is comfort to a stressed out plant. Don't feed a stressed plant either.
The drooping leaves if not thrown away you can put the stems in water and they should get strong again and you can grow some babies ! Girl foliage is great !
