Can someone share their experience with mange? My 10 month old chihuahua had a balding spot that I thought was a burn from the firepit in our yard. She loves to lay right up against it when we're out there with the family on cool evenings. I put neosporin on it and covered her body up with a little doggie shirt, well it didn't get any better and took her to the vet yesterday...mange. Not the contagious kind thank goodness...I hear the treatment can be lengthy and that the hair may never come back. She's on an anitibiotic 2 times a day and a cream once a day. And she's got the lampshade on her head! When her majesty, Trixie wakes up, I'll get a pic. It's pitiful.
