Has anyone grown, or is growing, Tropical Hibiscus "Allure"?

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

I see it's available at Hidden Valley and it looks really pretty. I've posted the pic from their website, and was wondering if anyone has this cultivar?

By the way, Hidden Valley looks to be doing a limited offering on some 3" babies (yummmy!). Not to be an enabler or anything, lol ;-)

Hi Randi, I don't know if you went to their site yet or not, but they are having their last open house of the year this weekend. I live "down the hill" from you in San Bernardino and it's about an hour drive from my house. I went to their open house a couple of months ago and it was marvelous. If you're interested in the little pots, they had an absolute ton of cultivars last time. They also have many varieities that I've not found on their website, or even anywhere online. I picked up large pots of Palm Springs and Brown Sugar (which they don't list) and a bunch of different babies. In case you want to see, I posted pics of those two in Plant Files. If you're not busy this weekend, and it doesn't seem too crazy far, I'd totally recommend attending. They are super nice helpful people, as well!

WOW! That baby is yet another "must have: imo. I'm such a mess with my plant addiction. In order to keep this collection alive, I have to bring so many inside to over winter them. I'm so out of room, I'm literally sleeping with atleast a dozen pots next to our bed under a 1000watt growlight. The light sure helps in winter as a artificial source of sunlight to combat the winter blahs/depression. The light is so intense, my dogs come and lay in the "sun light"! LOL
The light is set up close to a window and when you pull in the drive way at night, it looks like an alien space craft or something insanely bright blairing through the windows. LOL My nieghboor's think we're nuts until spring when we get a huge jumpstart on them with plants already thriving.
I'm not right in the head;)
Thanks for the picture, JD

I'm looking forward too, I've got, I think, 10 babies from HVH now and they're all doing great. Plus, I'm waiting for the two quart sized that I purchased this past weekend to bloom (they've both got a whole bunch of buds) - Mango Tango and Cafe Au Lait. I'll post the pics when the blooms pop! I'm so addicted my kids are making me a My Space called the "crazy plant lady", lol!

I think we all have a little space like that LOL at least I know I do, it's a l6 x 30 foot sized though.

I am like that too, amarantha00. I even dream plants. I get so much joy from them in all kinds and colors. Show me a well grown plant and my heart will take a jump for joy.

Allure is just so fantastic. It is calling me by name.
