It's very very lanky, supposedly winter hardy here, sun or shade, and flowers in the autumn -- a pretty pink. Any ideas what this one is? Thanks!
Autumn flowering pink begonia?
Likely it's Begonia grandis or subsp. B. evansiana. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/722/index.html
Mine is about 2' tall or more (both pink varieties and my white one too), lanky for sure. And they are supposed to be winter hardy. I don't know about the sun part. I've always had mine in shade or dappled light, some get morning sun. They'll reproduce for you via bulbils at the leaf axils. You can collect them or let them fall to make more of a ground cover effect.
Here's a hybrid I grow too. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/142903/index.html the leaves are HUGE! it's a fun one.
Sidney, ya shoulda asked!
The begonias from the swap are Begonia grandis. Yes, they're winter hardy here. :-) Don't give em full sun!
