The front the passed through yesterday and last night dumped a good amount of much needed rain on the area, but I was not prepared for the nearly gale-force winds that blew almost all night. First thing this morning I opened the front door to what the picture below shows. I was astounded that the wind could pick up pots that hold 20 quarts of potting soil and plants and toss them around like pick-up sticks. Boy did I have some cleaning up to do when I got home tonight!

Wild and Stormy Night
Great Day In The Morning!!!! That was some kind of wind. I am so sorry. If any of your brugs were destroyed I'm sure the good people posting on this forum will help to replace them. Let us know.
Judy
OUCH!!! Don't you hate seeing them lying helpless there like that?
I hope they are all ok!!
I think yours was worse than mine.
We had high winds last night also it was sad to look at all the blooms and limb on the ground this morning the brugs sure took a beating.
Ruth
So sorry about your brug babies. We got a little rain, but not nearly enough. I did some digging and planting, and it was dry about an inch below the surface. I think we are down about 13 inches... Elaine

You scared me with that pic, looked like mine a week ago, dejavu....
Like a mad lawnmower went thru-
tossed a 80 quart pot, and zapped most buds and tops off
all the rest of my brugies
My thoughts are with your salvage duty tonight,LOL
could have been worse. we are not in Buffalo
What a way to start winter Barb. Hope you get it all back together. Did your clean up go well?
Barb,
I sure hope it looks worse than it was! Seems like the weather gets goofier every year.
LOL Kin, you always make me smile!! Bad Storm indeed! Yes, the weather has cleared after pea-soup fog until nearly 11 o'clock today. Unfortunately I had to work late and just now got home, so finishing of the cleanup will have to wait until tomorrow after work. I have the majority of everything sitting in the carport now because I don't want to chance any more damage. I was surprised that only half a dozen or so lost limbs. All in all I consider myself very lucky. All those I have promised cuttings or plants to will still have them coming.. it may be a bit later than I had planned, so keep the faith. At least now I have more "cuttings" than before!!
Thanks, everyone, for your moral support. Ruth, I hope yours and Dedda's and Jim's plants weathered their respective storms. Mother Nature can throw some sliders now and then, can't she!!
Barb
Sometimes mother nature stinks!
Good you got thru with limited damage. I am dreading winter here. Today was so beautiful. Just a joy to be outside.
