A long time ago I thought I would like to grow Amaryllis as houseplants. I invested alot of money, time, and medicine into these bulbs.
All of them got some red disease and eventually rotted.
I have had these 4 "hanging on" for a long time now. They don't seem to have any signs of the red rot that the larger bulbed amaryllis did.
I believe all 4 of these bulbs to be my Butterflies as I remeber these being smaller bulbs to start with.
You could end up with another beautiful surprise in the bunch but I KNOW for a fact there are Papillo's in this bunch.
They are in need of someone who will love them and nurse them and I just don't have it in me anymore to try to make these happy. Not in Maine.
I am just looking for a nice houseplant to baby over the winter that I don't have.
I will leave this open until Sunday and take the best offer or close it sooner if it's an offer I can't refuse *lol*
These are not huge bulbs and definately in need of some love. They are all still firm though and not soft at all.

CLOSED: HAVE: Butterfly Amaryllis
What do you want in trade? Or do you prefer monitary payment if that is allowed? We love amaryillis and I'm willing to do all the babying they need.
would you be interested in a houseplant varigated arbclose ? I don't see your want list. Please check my trade page. Thank you.
I have some starts of purple jew, and marble philo...

I'm just really looking for a unique houseplant that I don't have. I love flowering houseplants and currently collect hoyas, crown of thorns, Christmas/Easter Cactus and am up to 2 Adeniums but I know there are houseplants out there that I haven't even met yet.
Farmerpickle, I looked up arbclose and can't seem to find anything on it. What is it?
Viv, thank you for the offer but the purple jew and marble philo are not really plants that I would grow but greatly appreciate your offer.
Leaflady, I would feel really funny about selling them... I would much rather give them away or trade for something as I have never been charged for anything here at Dave's and certainly couldn't charge for these as I have been a very bad mommy to them.

Kim, if I didn't just dig up a laundry basket full of amaryllis bulbs that I need to pot up, I'd toss my hat into the ring!
I did have the thought however that I could probably put some Christmas Cactus cuttings into the BE with the seeds I'm sending you.... I'll have to Dmail you with photos to see if I have any that you'd like or don't yet have, or if you'd like I can just clip & send. :-)
Does your interest in flowering houseplants extend to African Violets? With a little luck, I'll be overrun with good sized plantlets by spring... maybe we can trade for hoyas... we'll talk, LOL.
Just as a heads-up, you can get pretty creative about trades (DVDs, books, pots, handcrafts, supplies... doesn't have to be plants for plants by any means), but anything that smacks of buying/selling is not permitted on DG.
Hello Farmerpickle,
Would you be interested in 2 of the bulbs for your purple butterly oxalis?
The other 2 I am going to send to a friend if that is OK. I will send you the 2 largest bulbs if you would like to trade.

Hi Kim. sounds good. I'll dmai you my address. Wenny
Critterologist, thanks for the heads up. I truely did not know the rules on that.
No problem, leaflady. Admin tries to hold a pretty firm line on that issue because otherwise the forums would quickly be overrun by commercial offers and transactions. I know it's hard to see something you really want being offered and not have anything to trade! Some folks who trade here also have eBay stores or web sites, but they are not allowed to mention it on the forums if they have additional plants for sale, because that's soliciting business... however, you can click on somebody's name and see if they have a website link on their garden page (I don't). And, as I said, you can get pretty creative with trade offers, too!
FYI, I got some wonderful amaryllis from Brent & Becky's last year. They have a big sale at the end of November! I've also ordered some nice bulbs from an eBay store called "Rare Bulbs and Plants" -- and Aaron has some cool looking amaryllis listed this fall. (I have no connection with either other than as a happy customer.)
