Baby buds on brugs.....

I, TX(Zone 8a)

I found some tiny little buds this morning and I am wondering how long it will take them to get big enough and bloom. They are about 1/2 long. I am in zone 8a so I may have a little time. This plant would have to be where there is NO protection what so ever.

What are your thoughts? Thanks a bunch.

Kim, looks like Tx will see blooms on your brugs. Hope you have time.
I think you are warmer than here and I had lots of blooms up in to November last year. I always date my pictures at the first of the year so I will know when they started blooming and at the end of the year so I will know how long they bloomed. Many pictures of brugs dated November in my files from last year.
Keep us posted.

any way you could dig her up and pot her for the winter, she would still bloom in the warm.

I hadn't thought about digging her up. After I posted this I looked at the others and they all have baby buds on them. Last year we didn't have a frost until after the first of November so maybe we will get lucky again. Surely after sooo many days of 100+ this summer Mother Nature will cut us some slack.

I have to share our good news. We have had an inch of rain last night and today. It is abso lutely wonderful. Thank you Lord! I know that it isn't enough to break a drought but it is a start.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Glad you got the rain you so badly needed.

Kim.....if you need some rain....I could send a few inches your way...lol. We've had enough in the last week to drown everything. I've got a lake in my backyard and it is even seeping into the floor of the greenhouse. The veggie garden is also under water. I can't complain though....it was so needed after this drought. But I think we're gonna crack it now! Congrats on your buds....I just found little buds on my variegated brug and am also hoping they make it. These are my very first buds ever so I am so excited! Crossing fingers for both of us!

Send the rain on. I saw on the news about how it had rained in your area. We are just about 100 miles north west of you. Hope you get some dry out time. Now if it will just rain Saturday maybe we can get some run off water and start to fill our ponds or tanks again. I know what fish we have left would just love it. Like moving from an appartment to a mansion only in a pond.

Maybe our brugs will respond and bloom for Thanksgiving for us.

Kim
