Gardening in zone 8b

Killeen, TX(Zone 8b)

Hi, I moved from Europe to Central Texas (Killeen/ Ft Hood area) and bought my first house.
I am interested in the names of plants that are easy to take care off, because I am new to gardening.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome HPV72xp, I would spend some time reading the forums here and going to a locally owned nursery in town(not one of the big box stores) it will have people that can give you advice for your particular area and help you pick out plants that will do well for you. We have a very challenging climate and soil conditions here in texas, so I think it will be very different from what you are used to.Right now I am struggling with a lawn that looks terrible, but enjoying some old roses that are giving me a great show.nancy
