more cuttings, are they common?

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I could not resist that question because I had requested 2 seeds of shredded white for postage or cuttings from a DG member,at that time I was cutting isobbella, Pink Favorite, and a yellow, I was told the person was ignoring me because I named "common" brugs so if anyone want cuttings for postage of my brugs send me DMail, I will send whatever different ones I have, if I have no requests by Tuesday they will go in trash.
Oh I purchased a Shredded white on E

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

Well for heaven's sake! Common? What's common? The old favorites? To someone like me who has been "into" brugs but short time, NONE are common. Dr. Seuss is bright and cheerful. Insignis Pink is big and open-faced and smiley. Any solid white single is pure and radiant and glowing in my humble (but accurate) opinion. ;) Rosamond grabbed my heart when it bloomed and is holding fast. Common? Who is to say? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, my friend. To my way of thinking, if there are more cuttings of particular varieties available, then does that not mean that those particular varieties are better suited to a varied environment and more able to progress from cutting to plant to bloom stage? Sounds like a winner to me!!

Barb..I agree with you completely!! Couldn't have been said better!

Me too Barb......even the common ones, which I don't even know, are beautiful to me! I must be odd, because I even like the unnamed ones Ü

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Well said Barb. My favorite is the one that is blooming in my yard at any time.

I'm sorry your feelings were hurt, Doris. Ok, actually, it was a slap in your face. But, nonetheless, when others are looking for cuttings, they should be grateful that there are people out there willing to share -- common or uncommon brugs. My goodness, my favorite is my "unknown" pink. Gasp, that's "common" isn't it?
Why is it that people just can't be grateful for things anymore?

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

Doris my yard has been beautiful this year thanks to your generosity,"common" is in the eye of the beholder.

I received a big box of cuttings from you, Doris, yesterday and I am so very grateful for each and every one. They are all different than the couple I have now, and I wouldn't call any of them common. Thank you for your good nature and I hope that next year I'll be able to return the favor.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

I, too, have received a generous number of cuttings from Doris and am very grateful! My first 'named' brugs were in that bunch. Thanks again Doris

Doris,
I just love the brugs you sent me and all but two have roots already. I am so excited and happy that people like you share what makes you happy with anyone that asks. Cheers to you my lady.

I remember hearing some years back about someone paying $5,000 for a Day Lily and having his private jet sent across country to pick it up. By this time that five thousand dollar Day Lily may be common too, and a lot cheaper ..... but still just as pretty.

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Doris your kindness started me on my brugs this year when I had lost my cuttings from last year. You are a very kind and giving person. All the ones you send me are beautiful ! I will never forget your kindness.....

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

EFGeorgia i have several Dr, Suess, do you want an assortment for the $8:10 postage or just a couple.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Kareoke,
Please don't throw them away. I'll pay postage if you'll send them my way.
PLMK, if you would like me to send the postage first.

Thanks! Why some people are so insensitive to other's feelings tells me a little of their character. Those are the folks you just have to ignore and go on.

kareoke, I would like a couple of Dr. Seuss. By the way, speaking of "common" varieties, I have a Frosty that did great for me when others would just not bloom because it is so cool here.

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

Doris,
I want to thank you again for all the cuttings you have sent. A lot of them already have roots. You have obviously shared very generously with a lot of people here, and sure didn't deserve that.
Hugs,

CUTTINGS ARE NOW GONE.

Thanks to so many DGers that still wanted them I was overwhelmed with mail, now I will spent the rest of the day tagging and boxing, all those that asked for them I have answered your emails, and boxes will go out in the morning mail.

Hmm... I am wondering if the person themselves told you this or if it came via someone else?

ANyway.. big hugs to you Kareoke. I think all brugs are beautiful.. which doesn't mean that I would turn down a nice double! lol

Doris,

You have always been so kind to everyone. I'm sorry some poor soul was disrespectful to you.

Common? Charles Grimaldi and Frosty Pink are certainly "common", but they both put on a AMAZING show in my gardens this fall. I'm just glad that all the people slowing down in their cars to take a look didn't cause an accident in front of my place!

Erick

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

They are all beautiful to me, and Isobella made the front page of our newspaper last year.

Thanks everyone for your kind words
