Plumeria Advice

Glendale, AZ(Zone 9b)

I know you should not water plumerias when they are dormant. But what do you do about plumerias planted in the ground when it rains? I know they need to be protected form freezing weather but do you try to keep them dry when you are expecting rain?

Kdkral, mine just stay out in the rain when it rains, but mine don't go dormant. They should be fine. Lots of dormant plumies get rained on and do just fine as long as the rain drains away fairly quickly. They should not sit in a puddle or lake of water, but water drains pretty well in the ground normally. As long as they aren't subjected to freezing temps, they will be fine. I think there are some big trees growing in Arizona in different places, and most do well when they are surrounded by warm concrete. Dete from Tucson knows of the whereabouts of some nice ones.

Thank you Clare. I thought it would be okay but just was not sure.
