I have 3 brugs that I want to bring in for the winter. Since they will be in the house (which we keep right around 70 degrees), do I need to keep fertilizing them throughout the winter? Or do they need a dormancy period?
Is there anything special I should do before bringing them inside? OK, I admit...I don't know anything!! Help!!

What to do....
Hi Dee, unless you can give at least 12-14 hrs of light it would probably be best to let them go dormant, stop all fertilizing, and really don't water to often, maybe once a month and then lightly. I would take all the leaves off and spray for bugs (even f you don't have em they can hide real good) that's just what I would do.

Well, that settles it. They must go dormant. Even in Mississippi there is no way I can give them that much light during the winter...I don't have anywhere I can set up a light system. My house is pretty crowded right now. (too much renovation going on)
So, I guess I should also cut the limbs back to maybe ...what 6 inches?
Dee
It's a great time to trim your brug and don't forget to share some cutting's, I like to make my cuts above the "Y" so that the cuttings will bloom sooner.

Thanks for your help. I really need to get something done this weekend. You never know when the weather will drop here, or if it truly will....
