Protea cynaroides

The colorful outside bracts vary in color from creamy white to a deep pink, though the paler pinks with a silver shine are the most sought after.

THANKS Pepper! I just love all in the Protea family. I just found a great book on them yesterday at the San Francisco Arboretum to help me ID more of my pics. I will also enjoy looking at the photos in the book, they are just so lovely. Sadly, I will never grow a Protea so I must satisfy my love lust in viewing other gardener's photos and plants.

Oh Sue you missed a very fun day yesterday. Ilie took us for a tour of the Arboretum of all the fun flowers. I loved it all. We missed you! And we went to lunch at that lime green restaurant 2 doors down from my sushi place. It was very good.

It is a lot of work as you well know. Just the research to check names or even to identify can take an hour or 2. I get so side tracked and go off on tangents as I came across fun pictures or info and forget I am on a mission. LOL You are so smart to get huge album from some one all name tagged and neat and post that, so much faster! I may die doing this. I have thousands of images to go. LOL

But Sue you are so organized, I am an all over, fast running person to nowhere. I get nothing done. It is after 12 noon here and I want to go to bed. LOL I keep shutting my eyes at the computer. And I am freezing. Are you cold in San Jose?

Sue, look who I met at the Arb. sale.......... Magnolia Lunar and Oliver; twins. Made me want a baby again. Magnolia Lunar was so full of fun. I fell in love.
