For all my australis to go bonkers with blooms. Here is the one tenuipes hanging from the palm tree. It goes
all the way up 3 extended hangers & still is trying to get up into the tree. I will have to move it soon as that branch is going to come off in about a month. As each branch of the palm tree gets ready to shed, I have moved the plant up to the next one. I just don't think I can go much higher with this. Ha.
This plant has bloomed for the last 3 Octobers, but never quite this profusly. There is a flower at almost every node.
That time of year
Oh Marcy, that just takes my breath, and I bet the smell is just wonderful. Just beautiful and thanks for sharing the photo.
Marcy, those pictures are absolutely stunning. Now I'm conflicted ... Am I going to come live with you or with Carol??? (LOL)
Seriously, those plants are simply amazing - such beauty.
Ann
Marcy, you do have the touch! That is incredible! Thanks for sharing. God bless, -joanne
::looks at non-blooming hoyas and sighs::
Looks at the once beautiful Bella from Marcy slowly dying in my livingroom and thinks "maybe I'm not meant to grow hoyas *lol*". I have cuttings that haven't put 1 leaf on in over a year and look at that thing! Wow, you sure know what you're doing! Breathtaking!
Kim
Wow!!!!!!!!! Marcy
What a beauty. I can't stop looking at it. Your hibiscus is also beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Patti :O)
WoW !! What a incredible plant,,,I bet it smells heavenly, too. I have never seen any hoya bloom like that. That hibiscus is a beauty, too.
Karen
Patti,
My thoughts exactly!! LOL Look at the time the messages posted! LMAO
Karen
Thats amazing Marcy, I hope mine flowers like that. I thought I'd read somewhere that the Tenuipes doesn't flower as much as the H. Australis ssp Australis, Its certainly not the case with yours.
Roy
Wow, those are beautiful! Great inspiration for us hoya newbs!
Kat
Marcy you're at it again:-). Those are just awesome pictures. You must not have any hoya addicts close by, I'm sure if you did you wouldn't leave your hoyas outside.
Blessings,
Awanda
LOL...I guess your right Awanda. I used to worry when I first started hanging them out there and would only hang out common or less expensive ones out near the street. Then I decided that if they had the gall to take them, they must need them more than I, so I stopped thinking about it.
Most of my neighbors admire them & will stop to ask about them once in a while, but no one has ever tried to take any so I guess they are nice law abiding folks around here (so far anyway).
That australis in the picture hangs just about a foot from the sidewalk that passes in front of the house. Ha. However....I think that would be quite a chore getting that thing down. If people pass by at night they must be bowled over by the scent. Ha.
Thanks all for the compliments.
Marcy
NOTICE TO MARCY...You have D mail
Annie W.
Beautiful Marcy! You do have the magic touch! My Ms. G was full of blooms and I moved it from the GH to the living room to enjoy the fragrance. BAD MOVE. Almost all the flowers blasted. Way to grow!
Mel
Just beautiful, Marcy!!! I wish I had kept my Mrs. G. as it was the best bloomer of them all!!!!
PS We just went thru a horrendous earthquake!!!! Trees were even shaking and the house felt as if it would come off the pillars!!! Scary. Must have been WAY UP there.
how far are you from active lava flows?
Stunning plant Marcy! That's what hoya growing is all about, isn't it?
Uh Carol, are you sure it wasn't just Bob and another one of his pyrotechnic events?
HA....I wish! Actually, he is presently designing a canon. Why? you ask? Just 'cause he is Bob... LOL
Lots of Hawaii has damage...we didn't even get our power interrrupted....but we sure bounced around alot.!!!! Plants didn't even fall in the GH!!!
You are lucky not to have to bring in all of your beautiful plants.
