Judy, I just clicked on that link and am anxious to know if Morgansonne (sp?) looks like that naturally or has the picture been color enhanced?? If it really looks like that, then I am going to have to find one!! :-)
Thanks,
Barb
I siged up . How long before they register me ?- thanks
Shoot! I have not been there forever. I tried to log in but can't remember my password. I can't get my password sent to me because I have a new email address. I don't see a "contact us" link either. HELP!
Thanks, Jim. So it looks like the other one was color enhanced, huh. ~sigh~ Oh well.
Bad what Site cant you get in to?
The one we are NOT allowed to mention on Daves! See first post on the top of the Brug Forum.
The picture of Morgensonne on the homepage of allegras-foren is not enhanced. This Preissel hybrid has a deep orange corolla edge. Her name translated in english means Morning Sun.
Morgensonne like all brugs will have color variations due to many conditions. Weather being one of the most influential.
I have Morgensonne and have seen the color go from having a pasty colored to a very vibrant orange rim. If you want a brug that has more color but is similar you should look into Jean Pasco. You get a bright yellow corolla with a nice orange rim. Plus, it's easy to grow.
Hah, You beat me to it Monika. ~ ~ ~
bjf, the longer you grow brugs , the more you will realize that there really are no set rules for a brugs appearance..
Time of year , day & eve temps, length of day , soil anyalisis , type and frequency of fert. , amount of sun, amount of heat, frequency of watering , overall health of the plant , overall health of the root-ball, and many other factors can cause a bloom to look different from the same brug someone else grows.
I have multiple plants of some brug cultivars and even being only 6 ft apart
the blooms at times can look very different and I need to dig up the name tag to make sure.
Don't be so quick to think someone has been dishonest and photo-shopped a photo.
Monika, I thank you for letting me know that the picture is accurate.
Gary, thanks for the suggestion of an alternate to that particular variety. I have gotten more interested in the oranges and whites of late and appreciate your thoughts.
Scooterbug.. I don't recall thinking anything about dishonesty on anyone's part and I have to admit I was quite surprised by your comment. If my statement caused offense to the owners of that particular photograph, for that I apologize. It was not my intent to imply dishonesty on their part at all.
The photo I posted above wasn't a good photo. It did look better than my picture. Matter of fact I posted another post as soon as I posted the above but must not have hit send. Barb I will get you a cutting of mine. Be on the look out for it. It is really a beauty.
