Optimara Little Jewels

Madison, WI(Zone 4b)

Does anyone grow the following and would be willing to give up a leaf or two for postage? I have a friend who is looking for the following:

Opt. Little Coral - Little Opal - Little Pearl - Little Sapphire - Little Tourmaline - Little Turquoise

I told her I would check our state AV show this weekend, but the person that grows the most "little ones" is not going to be there this year.

Sorry, can't help. Good luck finding them. Couldn't help but think...wasn't it great when Optimara used to have their act together and put out series like the Little Jewels and others that were easily available and yes, labeled ???

Doesnt optimara have a southern belle series out now? I wonder if optimara would sell more violets if they sold named violets online and in stores at certain times of the year...I wish they would give you that opportunity.I guess its alot easier for them to sell them un-named but I think a website with a distrubuter who sells their named brands would be GREAT! I am trying to collect just the state named optimaras and its not easy finding them, in leaf or plant. You can buy the leaves at the selective gardener place but I kinda find it "pricey" after paying shipping on top of the leaf price. I would love to go to Tennessee and see their greenhouses, I dont know if they have tours there or not , but if so I would go nuts there!!! I am about 5 hours from them and I would go in a heartbeat if they had tours!( ponders the thought of scissors in her pocket while looking at the sea of violets!!) Sara I will keep an eye out for the little opti's for you. ;0)

I've got 'Optimara Little Crystal' and could send you a couple of leaves now or, better yet, a plantlet in spring. (I have leaves down that are putting up nice little babies now.) It gets clouds of bright white blooms that remind me of hovering butteflies... I got it last spring at Violet Gallery, and it quickly became a favorite!

I just noticed that Rachel has 'Little Moonstone' and 'Little Creek Girl' on her trade list, if that helps. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/659479/

Are you looking for other "Little" Optimaras, or only the ones you specifically listed?

Madison, WI(Zone 4b)

I'm looking for just the ones listed. They are for someone else.

Right... I got that you were looking for a friend. I gather she collects the "Little" series and already has those not on her list?

Madison, WI(Zone 4b)

She has all the "Little Jewels" except the ones listed above. I don't grow many Optimaras myself and thought I might be able to find some of the missing ones on this board.
