Ok, it's not "perfect," but this is her very first bloom and she did a good job with her first attempt?!?
I'd love to be able to describe her scent, however, a skunk (didn't know I had skunks!) apparently got frightened.
Anyway, here's my first EDW bloom. Now to chop her up because of the cold weather they are predicting for Thursday. :(
EDW's first bloom
hadn't noticed it before, but check out the moth. That's pretty cool!
Cool pic!! I hate moths now, but that is still a cool pic.
Do you have to chop her up, looks like you could just take the whole plant inside.
Nice pic, Felicia! Perfect is for collectors... nice first bloom is for us gardeners! I think she did just fine for her first showing.
Question... how do you plan to chop her? Off with her head? Cut that one off on the right and root it? Bare-root bubble her? Hmmmmm???
Oh yeah.. cool moth. I have one of my own that spends every night on the screen door near the outside light. He's one of Judy's kamakazi moths! :~)
Barb
Looks perfect to me. Nice
Thanks! It only took two weeks for the bloom. sigh.. anyway...
Barb, I loved the kamakazi moth thread!! Too funny!! And, this is coming from someone who gets spooked in the daytime by flying things. :)
Ok, truth be known, only the shoot off to the right will be cut off, as I'm giving it to someone. Of course, that shoot is the one with all the mature buds. Go figure. The rest will remain intact. So, yeah, Doris, aside from that cutting, it'll be taken into my (I really need to hurry and get it fixed up) "overwintering room." :) Whiskers is the same way, except there are a few side shoots that I'll be cutting for others. So, EDW, and Whiskers will basically remain intact.
Great shot of that moth, looks like it is just suspended there. I find first blooms are often a bit hinky esp in fall. I love that it bloomed for you in time.
Felicia,
That is a most beautiful bloom. I love it. The moth is quite a plus. WTG.
I have my yellow and white still outside and my pink in my living room. My white finally Y'd and has a couple of small buds on it. I doubt I will see any bloom as I am going to be bringing it inside soon.
I am excited for next year to see blooms. I sure hope I will get them before fall.
Thanks for sharing, Marie
