Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

If you will send me dmail, I can send you some seeds of this kind:
http://home.comcast.net/~sterhill/toad/toad.html - I put this page up for a Round Up for next spring as I have plenty of plants too.

the seeds are not ready yet - still green - but I should have tons of them and they do very well from seed.

Don't need a trade - these can go in a regular envelope.

But do send me a dmail or I will forget!

I have seed, not sure what the name of the one I have is, but I think is quite common, it is a pretty thing though, and I don't have a pitcure..maybe I can find it in the plant files for you...I would love to trade some for some of yours...thanks.

Hi JanetS - I'll be happy to trade seeds with you - I love toad lilies and have quite a variety now. The Tricyrtis Hirta is the one I have the most of and - consequently - the most seeds.

I think they ought to be ready in another month. Still very green right now.

Do you think these would grow in a shady area that gets very hot? I live in west Texas and my mother has an area that is shaded all day except early morning but it does get hot here. The area gets lots of water. If they might grow there, I would love to have some for her.

...ooooohhhh mininissandog... elephane ears? Those are soooo cool. Been thinking of getting her some of those for another area. MY mother is 72, yesterday and I started doing the plantings in her flower beds this summer. It really is fun bringing her new plants and working with her where she wants them. She chooses according to the conditions the plant needs and I do the work.

I've traded seeds so I have toad lilies now! Thanks everyone

LhasaLover elephant ears are great...you should definitely get her some (they multiply like crazy so you don't need a whole ton the first year, just dig and divide next year and you'll have twice as many and the main "bulb" will keep getting bigger and better esp if you divide)
and there are so many varieties I have "ruffles" and will be happy to send you some if you'll pay for postage.

I have a white one with purple splots that looks just like Sterhills, but all the pods were empty!

It is on the north side of a fence and gets too much sun in the high summer and the leaves bleach out, so I'll be moving it to the shade in early spring. If it grows like Sterhilll says, and is easy to divide, I would like to trade with anybody for any other kind as long as we can send in a bubble envie. Iam not into huge postage costs! Mine is pretty big and I should have a lot of divisions. Keep me in mind.

Suzy

Edited to say mine is just like Sterhills, but seems more white. Maybe mine has fewer purple splots? Anyway, somehow it is different.

Suzy, keep me in mind too please if you have extras when you move them in spring... I think we've already talked about maybe swapping trade boxes in spring (dormant cuttings & wintersown seedlings et al)... I need to start wish lists for us in my trade tracker! I do think I remember that you wanted me to stick some cuttings of Clematis montana 'Rubens'. :-)

Sure, Critter! You know it!

Trade Tracker....Trade Tracker..gotta find that Trade Tracker.....
