This is a lovely little native Texas annual that blooms in the Fall. The flowers are just adorable and such a lovely pink.
Have any of you encountered it in the wild?
This one was actually growing at the side yard of the Wildscape greenhouse where I volunteer.
Sand Palafox, Palafoxia sphacelata.
A group of the flowers and a link to the flower's history.

I haven't seen that one around here... I will have to look now.
Brightly colored bloom for fall, nice!
Beautiful! I'd love to get seed, if you get any. We have Palafoxia callosa in my area, but it doesn't have very larger flowers.
I just got back from the Heard Native Plant sale and they have this. Actually they had lots unusual natives if anyone is near hear and can get up to McKinney.
Thank you Stacey, I have wanted to go there, but haven't made yet, one of these days, I hope.
