Not sure what I have but....

crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ok I have this very sturdy vine that looks alot like a hybrid sweet pea of some sort. Very fragrant, purple and white blooms and huge "pods". I got these seeds from an elderly lady down the lane and they just took off!! So I have several of the great seeds for trade if anyone is interested. I think I am going to plant them all the way around my deck railing next year!!

No prob! I love those hyacinth bean vines, too! Those purple pods are beautiful, and I think you can eat them (but you better check into that before you do, just to make sure!).

They are poison if not boiled for a very long time. I am not sure how long.

Found this link on Google - seems they are edible- http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Hyacinth+Vine-+Edible
I read some where they are also called Jefferson Beans because Thomas Jefferson grew them for food. I used to have them on a fence mixed with Moon vines, very pretty. Haven't had them for several years tho, now the fence is covered with Confederate Jasmine.

Tina,

The plant is beautiful. It would be beautiful along with my moonflower. I have some annual and periennial seeds if you would like to trade. I haven't made a list yet, I will try to in the next few days.
