printer software

I just renewed my membership so figured I better use it some.. LOL

I just bought a new printer-scanner waiting for it to be installed. I'm just not sure of installing the scanner. I am lucky as the shop where I just bought my computer from last month has a senior working there partime & he likes to volunteer & help other seniors. He came over & did some things for me last week & is coming back Wed. to do my printer.

Now to get down to why I'm writing... my old printer is still good but I wanted a scanner & this was as cheap as the scanner alone. I want to offer him my old one to give to a senior who may not have one. I have everything but can't find the CD that goes with it. I have looked everywhere for this CD.. Can someone in the know install it without the CD? Is it a lot more trouble without the CD? I hate to just toss this printer. As soon as I toss it I'll find that missing CD :( I don't know where I'll store it & also hate for the ink to dry up as it hasn't been used a lot. I have done several cards ahead using the ink.
