fall blooms

Hagerstown, MD(Zone 6b)

The weather is getting chilly out and fall is deffinatley in the air. Fall must be the season for brug blooms. Every one of mine is blooming or trying to bloom. The weather is calling for our first frost later this week. We have been busy trying to get winter quarters ready for the brugs winter stay. Most of the brugs are to big so I am cutting basals for next season's trees. I really hate cutting them. I am able to bring in some full plants intact. This will be a very busy week.

Oh it would kill me to cut those. All are so beautiful. Yes, brugs love the cooler nights of fall. What a great show.

I have been having internet issues for the last week so after uninstalling my internet and reinstalling it I can finally upload the rest of the pics.

It really hurts to cut them Kell. Making the decision on which to cut is even harder. The flowers are so slow to come out and open in the cold.

Just gorgeous Dott, I fear I will be doing the same thing shortly. I just hope our frost holds off until later in Nov, since I am going to be out of town alot this month.

Superb Dott!!
What a wonderful flush of blooms you are sharing with us. They sure know how to hook us into taking them back indoors for the winter...!!! Don't they! LOL
Pink Velvet looks great even with the pale fall color. Love that Gypsy Queen also.. Ahhh heck they are all worthy of Multiple compliments!!!
Thanks for sharing

What a wonderful display of beauty. I'm right behind you on making the decisions. I've let mine grow naturally so I have LOTS of trim work to do, plus I'm going to try roots and all in a bubbler for winter storage of several.

Beautifyl picture. Thanks for taking the time to share them with us.

Holy Cow, Dott.. what a fabulous show of blooms you are enjoying! Beautiful pictures. Thanks so much for sharing them. Super Nova is gaw-jus!!
Judy, can you elaborate (maybe a new thread?) on how you plan to bubbler the roots and everything? I was thinking along those lines myself but am not sure how to go about it.

Thanks everyone. I'm taking a little break from trimming them up. What a mess and thank goodness for a lot of counter space to work. I think I am going to push some until the end of the week. Now the weather is calling for a freeze. Where did the frost warning go to!

Judy, I would love to hear also. Are you just going to take the cuttings and let them root and set in the bubbler all winter? I was going to try it this way but I get anxious when I see roots and just have to pot them up.

They are wonderful Dott. Congratulations. I can't believe the number of different beautiful brugs you have. You are very blessed.

Your brugs are just gorgeous! I can't even imagine how hard it would be to cut on those.
