Dumb question here: What breed(s) are gamecocks?

Forgive me; I'm as "green" as they come when it comes to raising/having chickens, but are game cocks a totally different breed(s) than the chickens they offer at McMurray's? Does McMurray's offer gamecocks (I haven't checked their website yet)? If not, (where) do you find/purchase gamecocks? For the record, I'm just curious; I DON'T want to buy one. "The General" is all I care to have around my house (my Millie Fleur bantam rooster). I don't need or want something that can't go to sleep at night unless he's attacked everything in my yard; I just want to educate myself about all kinds of chickens. It's been 40 years ago, but I did see a gamecock once, when I was 9, while visiting my family in Eastern Kentucky. A neighbor of my Papaw Williams had one, and I do remember it being absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Mean, but beautiful!

Game cocks are large fowl Old english...sorta
they have no standard for showing ...the old english do
I've seen some that look like old english but have willow colored eggs

Because of the enforcement of the new stricter laws against cock fights most breeders are kinda underground

I was asked to find a breeder by the animal agent who gets me photo shoots
None of the guys I talked to would allow there birds to be used,nor could I devuldge their name
and there was BIG money being offered for use of the birds in the movie shoot that they needed the birds for

So game cocks are a ssshhhhhhh
but I know they have their own magazine and news letter

Yep it is like that here..we can raise them all we want ..but we can't fight them...there are plenty of those places here..seen one yard that had over 100 barrel houses for those roos to live in with their legs attached to the barrels somehow......all the females are housed in a seperate place...for hatching and raising baby chicks...
