I had no clue there was a daylily named after the famous Phil!

(This just popped up in the "fun random image" spot -- fun, indeed!)

To see a photo of the "real" Punxy Phil, check out the thumbnail image for my Groundhog's Day article: http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/585/
(I got permission to use the photo for the article but not to use it generally, so I can't just add the photo here.)

Thanks for sharing this beauty, Sue & Patrick!

I saw it show up in the random shots! The real one is a cutie!
I was able to add my own images to PF of this stunning bloom.

Oh WOW, that is definitely one stunning bloom. And I'm not generally a big fan of either yellow or red DLs, LOL... but gosh, that one could follow me home any time! I'll be keeping my eye out for it. I see it's a fairly new introduction (2004), so I might have to wait a bit for prices to come down... there are so many DLs that I want and don't have yet that I'm not yet at the point of shelling out the big bucks for the more recent intros! :-)

Thanks for putting a big plant-hunting grin on my face!
