I'm very excited for you
You'll get the fever
I'm going to the NH Poultry Fancier's Show today. I can't wait! yipee!
Cool
I love seeing more people go to shows
You can get really nice birds there PLUS you get the fever to start showing!!!!
Me showing???..nottt..I rather help a kid who wants to do this..lol..
I went to the chicken show. It was so fun! There weren't THAT that many breeds there. There were a lot of silkies, bantams in general and old english game birds. It was great! I loved watching them judge!
The best part for me, though, were the "vendors" who were selling boxes of chickens and ducks out of the backs of their cars! LOL! It looked so sketchy, like people were selling them on the black market or something. I'm sure it was really on the up and up :)
I came back with 3 silkies, one partridge silkie and two white pet quality silkies to keep my splash silkie and my frizzle company this winter. It was a good time!
I just wish there were someone there in charge of showing newcomers around and answering questions. Everyone was pretty busy ( it is a small show). I was too intimidated to ask anyone much. LOL! THe chickens were gorgeous.
Moodene,
Please Dmail me concerning the Secret Canna Trade
Thanks
Beck
Oh you gotta ask questions
after the birds are cooped and the judges start judging is a good time to start asking questions
from people...not the judges
Right I did guess that much! LOL!
I'll go again next year and I'll be ready to really ask questions, now that I've been oncve.
Seriously though, it was like nothing I have ever seen, all the people "vendors" outside who pulled up with pickups full of assorted poultry and other animals and just sold them right out of the backs of their pickups. One guy had about8 geese just hanging out in shavings in the back of his capped pick-up. I came home with three silkies. It was totally amazing and full of local color.
What I want to do next is track down the boss, so I can offer to build them a website. More chickens online! That's what I say!
Moodene, I'm hoping to go to the fair, but I'm not sure when. It has been very rained out, as I'm sure you know! But my ex went, and he said it's not that muddy as most of it is on concrete. But then, I very seriously doubt my ex went to see any animals. (Partly why he's an ex...) But I plan to go Friday if possible, or Thu. if the weather commands it.
Ann
I will porbably go on Thursday cuz I will be in Houston all day Friday. I hope it isn't all that muddy but will wear boots..lol...
If I go, I'll be wearing jeans and a red Lamar baseball hooded sweatshirt, so say something if you see me. 53, short hair, glasses.
Ann
