Update : Tutty

Silver Lake, OH(Zone 5b)

So many of you were concerned about Tutty.

For the past months (since Feb 06) we have been going around and around with vet(s) trying to figure out why Tutty is losing weight.
He's had lots of xrays, an abdominal ultrasound, a heart exam, many urinalysis tests and blood tests and poo tests and he just loses more and more weight no matter what we feed, how we feed, etc.

So now he's home from having had a colon biopsy. Doc thinks now it might be lymphoma of the colon. Or a cat version of Celiac Sprue. Celiac is pretty easy - special food only for him (good luck having him stay away from the others' hopper of food). The lymphoma would be treated with either steroids (which are fine to me, would give him energy and make him have an appetite)... or chemo. ::sigh::

So we are waiting for the results of the biopsy.

He looks pretty good. The doc sent him home with some special diet food and he gobbled it down. He's on an antibiotic and took the pill dutifully. He's so sweet. At the vet's they always tell me how dear he is and how no matter what they are doing to him he still purrs and rubs his head against their hands, etc. He's such a wonderful cat.

So ... maybe a bit of a prayer for him? He is so precious.

THanks
Janie
