This is Hope: I found her chained up to a car lift at an Auto Repair Shop here in Long Beach where she was for about 10-12 hours straight on a daily basis. Her chain was about 6 feet long and she couldn't even reach the nasty water that was provided in a stinky old bucket. Whenever a car was lifted she was afraid of the noise but couldn't get away. She also couldn't stand up straight and had to wait until they let her off leash as soon as the business closed in the evening. Then she was supposed to "guard" the place. I never saw any food whenever I went there and she ate everything I brought in the evenings. Nobody came on the week-end and that meant no food on Sundays! Her little area was right next to a huge trash can and had a strong smell of urine. Hope wasn't given a blanket and had to sleep on the concrete...
Right now she is at the animal shelter in Long Beach since the owner decided to relinquish her to animal control because he didn't want to spend any money on spaying her, giving her a shelter or simply providing food for her. He didn't care and whenever he raised his hand or simply moved, Hope cringed. I guess we all know what that means!!!
I'm not exactly sure how old she is what she is mixed with (seems to have Shepard in her) but I know that she is a sweet little girl that was neglected and mistreated and just needs some love and attention. She probably weights about 45 pounds and is very friendly but afraid and needs someone that understands what she has gone trough. Someone that is patient and willing to give her what she needs. Given her past she doesn't need much and just a little attention means the world to her.
Attached are some pics I took at the shelter. They are not great but all we have right now to work with. So please don't judge her on the poor quality of the photos...
PLEASE: Anyone in the LA area. Her time is running out and we need to get her out of the shelter before she gets on the euthanasia list. A foster home would be ideal until we find what we are looking for. Call or email me asap if you want to help or know someone that could take her.
