Madagascar Palm ?

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I purchased one last week and didn't know what it was until now. It has 4 stems growing out of the middle of the pot. Is it one plant or 4 plants? They seem kind of crowded together.

I have one like that and they just grow together - too sticky to mess with in my humble opinion!

If it's a Pachypodium, you can just dump it out of the pot and see for yourself. If it's four plants, it will not hurt them to be pulled apart. But sometimes you can get these to branch into multiple trunks by damaging the stem near the soil, so it could be a single plant..have a photo?

Here is a photo of it.

The leaves are hiding the trunks so I can't tell. Another pictures of a different side would help.

Either way, that is a Pachypodium lamerii... pretty tough plants.. .won't hurt it to toss out the soil and look at the roots to be sure it's multiple plants, or one growing from a single stem. If it's multiple (which is usually the case) then you can carefully pull them apart (actaully, you could just yank them apart, but I would at least try to cause as little damage as possible)... or you could grow them all them all together... will do just fine (just be a mess for a long time until one grows taller than the others)

Thanks for the info palmbob
