Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

I have 5 offers of Blue Balloon Plant (Platycodon) and 4 offers of Double Blue Balloon Plant to the first people who respond to this post.

I only ask the following:

Please send your Self Addressed Bubble Envelope WITH $.52 in postage
If you are not a newbie, PLEASE share your seeds from these with upcoming newbies after they flower for the first time as so many people shared with me when I was a newbie.
Indicate in your post whether you want the single, double or both.

Please post here rather than E-Mail so that I can stay organized as easily as possible.

Here is a picture of my double blue, these are just WONDERFUL plants to have and provide you with long bloom times, are well behaved and have lots of seeds to share in the fall!

If you have double left I would love to try them.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

They are yours......2 doubles left and still 5 singles.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Kim,

Are these perennial or biennial? I have seen Baloonflower listed both ways.

Suzy

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

They are perennial here in Maine Suzy so if they are a perennial here....they are a perennial anywhere *lol*.
They are one of my favorite flowers.

Hope this helps,
Kim

Hi Kim, I'd love to try some of each! Have you gotten a hard frost there yet? Mike

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Hi Mike,

I have reserved one of each for you. Only 1 frost so far but the ground isn't frozen yet. My aster and sedum are still blooming beautifully.

These seeds are GREAT for winter sowing. I'm sending enough so that everyone can winter sow 1/2 and direct sow the other half.

Down to 1 double left and 4 singles.

Hello,

Renwings, I have set aside a package of single blue for you.
Yes, mine does that in the fall. I usually cut them before they look like that though. After I harvest the seed pods I cut them to the ground just for neatness.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Hi Kim, LOL am I a day late and .52 cents short or do you have any left for adoption??? Lauri

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

According to my records....which I hope are correct, I have 1 single blue left for your Lauri :)

Kim

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

hurray, I'll get it out Monday even tho the P.O. is closed...Thanks Kim.......Lauri

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

As of today, these have all been adopted so I'm going to close this thread until next year :)

I will be watching for your bubble envelopes and will mail them right back.

Remember, there are enough seeds for each of you to Winter sow 1/2 and direct sow the other 1/2 this Spring.

I hope they bloom beautifully for all of you and bring you many years of joy.

Be sure to pass along the joy of Balloon Plant (Platycodon) next year or the following year by sharing seeds with any new gardeners you can share with :)

ENJOY!

Hello Renwings.....your envelope arrived today :)
I will be putting it in the mail to you tomorrow but wanted to know if you would like an Penstemon Smallii. I harvested some seed and it's ready if you would like some.
Here is a picture of it.
They are good "winter sow" candidates and are a perennial here in Maine which bloom for 6-8 weeks! I love mine and would like to share if you want some.

Let me know so I can get your envelope ready OK?
