I like something two toned - with an edge or an eye. I'm open to any color.

I think it's alpinia zerumbet - variegated shell ginger, hardy in zones 8 and above. But in zone 8, where it will die back during the winter, it won't bloom for you. It blooms on old growth. But the foliage alone is amazing, isn't it?
Thanks, Nancy. So will it bloom if it's greenhouse grown? This has never died back because it's been inside for the winter.
It will be protected.... I want blooms...LOL
Is it easy to overwinter dormant in a garage? It is so stunning -- and likes shade, to boot~
