hmmm, if you hear anything on the yellow cleome, let me know greenjay...
I have someone sending me some seeds but there 5 years old..
Hope they are still good,

Connie

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

greenjay did you ever get any of the other colors of cleome? I have some if you want some. Connie

Centennial, CO(Zone 5b)

I haven't heard a thing. Sooner or later someone will popup, but it may take a looooong time.

Citra, FL(Zone 9a)

greenjay, is your Sterling already rooted?

I have cranesbill, Rozanne. I think it would be easy to get some started for you, but I haven't tried any yet.

Centennial, CO(Zone 5b)

No, the Sterling is not rooted. I didn't want to take any cuttings from that one unless someone was interested -in trading for it - one is plenty for me! I could send unrooted cuttings, or if you wantd ot wait I could get it rooted for you in about 6 weeks.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

never heard of a yellow cleome. Boy i'd like some of that myself.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

I thought all allium liked sun. What varieties are shade loving? I have a lot of shade, so . . ..

Centennial, CO(Zone 5b)

I am trying to mimic the actual plant components of our high-desert pine groves. I saw a really good example, fairly undistorbed, this summer. It looked like in the early successional stages the alliums prevail. This may change as the canopy closes up and there is less light.

Picture is from 1st week of august, 7000 ft, N. of Colorado Springs:

Me again...
I just realized I posted on your Sand Cherry trade post, too. I REALLY really would love a rooted Sterling, and would be happy to wait for my end of the trade.
I have
Plants, roots, offshoots, bulbs:
Moonbeam yarrow
Coronation Gold yarrow
Nepeta 'Six Hills Giant'
Nepeta x fassini (spelling) Walker's Low, I think
Mayfield Giant Coreopsis
Unnamed daffodil bulbs, fresh dug, that have naturalized here.
Unnamed penstemon babies - it was a reject at the nursery a couple of years ago - lovely bright coral flowers.

Seeds:
Red Sun Sunflower
Helenium 'Moorheim Beauty'
Zebrina hollyhock - malva sylvestris
Maximillian Sunflower - perennial (I grew this in Montrose, CO and it was phenomenal!

I lived in Western CO for ten years and the yarrows, nepeta, etc. all did very well. I grew them with Centranthus, which is an invasive here, so I've removed the big plants, but still have volunteer seedlings, which I could pot up in the spring (or now, if you thought they would make it in the ground there now).

So, can we make a deal for the Sterling, you root? :-) Or should I sweeten the pot with Marachino salvia cuttings? Or pineapple sage? (I can root those.)

Centennial, CO(Zone 5b)

anything with bulbs, like your daffodils, would be great right about now.

OK, I will go grab some Sterling for cuttings -- we're headed into the Deep Freeze tonight...it just started snowing a few hours ago:
