I was wondering what is the best way to arrange your greenhouse to get the most usable space? I have those 6 feet tall industrial shelf units that I got from Sams. I have three of those around each wall and a plastic table on the end of those. I have two doors so that takes up a lot of room. I only have 2 walls to work with. The sink and the heater are on the third wall, so that is where I am going set up my back drop for use in takeing photos. Then they will all look neater with the same background. So, do you think there is anything I could do to gain more space or does this sound okay to you all? Oh, I did hang a 6' shelf up over the table that I'm using as a desk. And I have two metal poles that go across the top to hang all my hanging baskets from. Right now things look fine but I have a lot of cactuses to bring in for the winter. This includes hanging baskets and tall cactuses. I just want to make sure that I don't waste any space so I can get as much as I need it it without it looking all junky. And pointers or suggestions?
Thanks,
Jesse
How do you arrange your greenhouse?
I have one planting bench with soil in it (have been growing lettuce in it), one wire top bench that holds potted things, and one seedling light bench (3 shelves with lights) in my GH. Other than that, there are no fixed structures. I have plants sitting on the gravel floor on all sides - getting a bit crowded as I have started bringing in plants as it is moving toward the first frost early in November here in Granville County - close to you. When I bring in all the pots holding impatients, a banana tree, 2 large hibiscus plants, a lemon tree, a gardenia, 20 pots with cuttings that will be set out next spring, a fig tree, and pots of new geraniums that are sprouting, it's going to be crowded. This is in addition to various succulents that have spent the summer in the GH - plenty hot fo them this summer. I haven't put up any hanging baskets, but that would be a good idea - use some of the upper space. Are you concerned about too much of shelves or plants shading others?
