Damianita daisy
Chrysactinia mexicana

Damianita daisy (Chrysactinia mexicana) makes a great combo plant with other heat loving plants as shown here with hybrid portulaca. A pink blooming rock rose grows behind the damianita.

I love you hybrid portulaca! Do you know the more complicated name (genus, etc)? Do they come back by thereself every year?

The one shown in the photo Portulaca oleracea hybrid not the wild Portulaca oleracea which has tiny yellow blooms. I do not know its cultivar name because it was not on the plant tag. The Portulaca oleracea hybrids have large blooms, come in many colors and can be bought at Home Depot, Lowe's and many other places. I always wait for the plants to bloom at the store so that I know exactly what color the blooms will be if the plant tag does not state the color and/or the plants' cultivar names. A lot of times you can by them in hanging baskets. This one has come up from seed by itself for many years. It is one of my favorites. Thank you for your comment and I hope I have answered your questions. I will let you know if I have some extra plants best spring that I cab send you.
