Question About Dill

St Augustine, FL(Zone 9a)

My dill plant died, but it seemed to re-seed. However, the plant that has grown in its place smells like dill, but looks bushy and the butterflies don't seem to be attracted to it. Anyone know about this? Thanks, Karen

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

I would think if it smells like dill, it's dill. Was the original a hybrid? If so, the seed may be reverting to a parent. Hopefully garden-mermaid will be along in a minute.

Dill is an annual and if it bloomed, it will easily reseed. Here I have noticed it is the caterpillars more than the butterflys that like it. It may be too late in the season for the cats... pod
