Would someone please photograph the blooms on ragweed in closeup so I"ll know which wildweed is killing me up here. Plantfiles have pictures, but only in bud form taken in the spring I'd guess. Killin' me now!

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Jackie, they don't bud until fall. They are just little seedlings in the spring. The flowers are very small and green. I can get pictures when I am home tonight, but these are good pictures of them.

Jackie, here is a picture of another type of Ragweed, this one is pretty common and unfortunately there are many.
I have been having a terrible time too for about three weeks, I think that my body has finally built some resistance, I am getting better, but I sure have had a lot of sleepless nights.

yes, of course.......I have this, but I was expecting something with a white ragged bloom.hence the name ragweed......duhhhhhhhhhh

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

An online dictionary suggests it's from the shape of the leaves. I'm not convinced. Seems like there should be a much more colorful origin.
