We adopted a lovable 3 year old Beage from a shelter and don't know any of the dog's background. He also has no problem with our cat. We've given him the name Benny. He seems to be the perfect dog, but doesn't want to be left alone. He has chewed up the door frame when no one is home. We have picked up some "Bitter apple" and at this point don't know how well it will work. My wife has taken a few days off so she can leave the house many times for short periods to try and train Benny. Someone mentioned that crate training may not be good for a dog that has this problem - it may hurt it self trying to get out. Any sugesstions to help us would be appreciated. We have had the dog for 2 days without leaving him alone - I'm sure that didn't help. Thanks in advance
