The hibiscus are a cummin in

It's getting chilly around here. Time to prune and move my babies indoors. I start tomorrow with the smaller ones and then with the large pots and finally the tree. It rained like crazy yesterday and so the tree and large pots are extremely wet and heavy at the moment. I am giving them another day or so to drain and then in they come.

We've been having unseasonably warm weather here, 93 yesterday... mine are trimmed and lined up in front of the garage, soaking up the last warmth. Won't be long till they will be shut-ins.

93! Wow! It has been down in the low 40's at night here and upper 60's during the day. I have to move soon. I like the front of the garage idea since here it faces due south. I think that's where they can stay till the move inward.

I have got several hibiscus in. The tree is coming in this afternoon along with the rest of them.
What a chore, but I love them all.

Are you all attempting to root some of the trimmings?? I'm giving it serious consideration, but then I think I must be crazy.

Judy. I hadn't thought to, but I will have a large number of trimmings so I guess i will stick a few in and see what survives!

They would make great trades or gifts for people next spring.

I'm getting into the hardy hibiscus, some are really pretty. I have seeds and cuttings coming.

I need to start trimming and bringing in. I did get the ones that were in the ground dug up and planted they are sitting on the patio, waiting to be stored in the GH. I have a bunch more outside in pots that are going to get trimmed up or they all won't make it into the GH. YES I am planning on taking some of my cutting and rooting them. I got me some of the Dip'N Grow liquid rooting concentrate and plan on giving it a try. I especially want to get a couple more of my double yellow, salmon, and pink ones going. And some of the others I have. In the last month they have really been putting on a show. I can't beleive all the pretty blooms they have been showing off. My little GH is really going to be full this year. My DH says everything won't go into it. Boy I hope he is wrong and it all does go in.

I went to Accu Weather and got a 15 day weather forecast and if I can make it pass the 11th low at 39 and 12th low of 37 then the lows will be in the 40's and the 50's.

Dip ngro? I will have to look for that. I use a rooting hormone powder whose name I can't remember at the moment.

I liked the look of the root system in the picture. If it works that well for me, I will have cuttings of pink and yellow singles and peach doubles. some red single and doubles too. unfortunately, none of these ever had names since they were gift plants and refugees from the supermarket florist shop. but i have pictures of the blooms and I can let people see them if they take.
