I am still sort of new at gardening. I dont have any Bromeliads, but my neighbor does. I have looked it up and the type she has is Aechmea fasciata. My question is this: She did not cut the pups off and now they are pretty much as big as the original plant. Is it too late to do so? Can I get one of the cuttings and begin my own bromeliads? I get a bit aggravated with her way of gardening..buy a new plant because it's pretty, but often lets them wilt away! I try to take proper care of my various plants and of my water garden. I am just wanting to expand and this is such a pretty plant when cared for. So, if anyone can tell me, she has said I can have all I want. Thanks in advance! I may not have the exact type down that she has..but I do know it had really pretty pink star looking...blooms? Is that what they are called??? (told yall i need help!)

We have this plant , plants many now ! We take them off at any stage !
OUrs grow year round in morning sun /shade garden and we have had them for about 6 years now and shared some with neighbors their as happy as can be !
Thanks Violet! My neighbor has already said if it can be done(me getting some pups), I can have a couple. I am looking forward to broadening my garden. I have some great spots for them..morning sun/shade just like you mention!
