Hi,
a few weeks ago, I saw a thread about containers for herb garden and but I can't locate it now... it's about someone that used different size flue (that thing for chimenees - sorry about the spelling!!!) to plant some of the more invasive herbs... I loved the idea and I am dreaming about a new veggie bed for next year and I want one side of the bed be just herbs and I am planning to use both cedar wood and those flue things if I can find it... Also I want to plant some rosemary among my roses and I want to contain then a litlle... I heard that rosemary loves to be in containers...
I appreciate your help!
Help locating a thread
Is this it? http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/605540/
If not, type chimney flue in upper right hand corner and click on search forums. It will pull up many. You can narrow the search then by searching herbs or any other forum like container gardening... Good luck.
Hi Kassia,
I think that you already have a link to the thread you were looking for. I just wanted to say (as another Massachusetts dweller) that you need to put your rosemary in some kind of pot or container because you'll have to bring it inside for the Winter. It is not able to withstand our cold temperatures and must be brought in before the freezing weather starts.
Oh I didn't know that... thanks McCool... I was under the impression that it was hardy enough to stay out... mine is absolutly healthy and beautiful right now but it's planted on my veggie garden... If I uproot and plant on a pot right now will I kill the poor thing???
Thanks podster! really appreciate...
