Looking for a few gingers before winter sets in
I have two of the variegated varieties of shell ginger, Pinstripe and the regular yellow greem splashed.
Kyle
is that suppose to be yellow green? or yellow greem? got pictures of them?
can you post the pics, I have a couple variegated ones, just want to make sure I don't have them already
I can't find any info on either of those kinds. what's their botanical name? do you know?
kathy
I don't think I have that one. Is that the one you have Kyle?
Kathy Ann
Alpina zerumbet is the Variegated Shell Ginger.
Daisy
oh cool, thanks daisy, I think I have found a tiny piece of this growing outside. Doesn't look anything like the variegated ginger I saw athe memphis botanical garden, I"m gonna have to go back and see what the tag said on that one. I swore it said it was variegated shell ginger. It looked like it had bamboo stalks on it , this one doesn't.
Well, it seems I've just finalized a trade for that variegated shell ginger, so I won't be needing that any longer.
Still looking for others though
Kathy, I've got a curcuma, Tokyo Rose, that's just not doing much for me. Would be happy to send for stamps.
Wonderful, you would rather stamps than money ha? just let me know, you want me to send first or after it gets here
I'm dmailing you
Kathy, I think the ginger we saw at Memphis is a variegated costus aka spiral ginger. Hope you get some because I wanna come steal a piece from ya. LOL
So it's not the one listed above ha? Glad to know it's a diff one, cause I really want that one, hope we get some at the MBG. we're gonna fight over that one you know LOL
see ya
Well, I can tell ya who'll win that fight. I will! Cause I'm bigger! LOL
Not fair, you play dirty woman!!!!
oh looky, I think I found the one I"m looking for the most.
