Have any of y'all had experience with the Forsyth Lemon Drop Daylily? I saw it on Oakes daylily site, and the one review of it said it has more rebloom than Stella de Oro, with a clearer lemon yellow color and it's evergreen. If anyone has planted any of these, I'd really appreciate knowing how they did for you since the reviewer was from way up north. I'll post on daylily forum too, but wanted input from our area since our results would probably be drastically different.
Forsyth Lemon Drop Daylily
I hope someone replies -- if it's even better than Stella, I WANT SOME!!!
Me too!
Well, I've ordered 20 of these from Oakes. They should be here in a few days, so I'll let y'all know how they work out. I'm putting them in as edging at the front of a long raised bed of Knockout roses. Oakes is kinda' pricey but, in my opinion, worth it because the plants are so large and healthy and guaranteed for life! I've purchased numerous times from them and on one order only mentioned having 5 Margaret Mitchell's die and they replaced them without me even asking. If these do better than Stellas, I'll be very happy. Too bad I can't find a pink that works this well!
crow, I just put in some pink daylilies, I think the name was "fairy tale" or something on that order. If they do well, I'll let you know. Of course, I may not know until spring...
Crow I'll be anxious to see how they turn out for you. I have Stellas and if yours bloom as well or better I will sure want some. I love yellow! I've ordered from Oakes too and been very satisfied. I've never lost a single lily from them.
Brigidlily I'll be anxious to know how your pinks turn out too. I just ordered some pink Strawberry Candy lilies from Gilbert Wild. His plants aren't as huge as Oakes but I'm trying to pinch pennies right now with Christmas coming up.

Brigiily and Dancey, please do let me know how your pinks turn out. My main color in all my plantings is pink with blues and yellows thrown in for punch. I've had problems with my pink daylilies not being pink but more beige. I've just recently read that alkaline soil can cause that, so I'm going to add some Miracid or Ironite to my pink ones this spring. The pinks I have are Dublin Elaine, Millie Schlumpf and Barbara Mitchells. The yellows are Stella de Oro and Jo Barbre. It'll be spring before I can let y'all know about the Lemon Drops, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
My fingers are crossed for all of us. I have mainly pink through apricot to yellow, with a little purple thrown in here and there. I won't know until spring if that's a good idea, but hopefully it will be worth the wait!
