Oct 4 is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. Here we have an annual service (On Saturday nearest the date) for the Blessing of the Animals in on e of the churches. Do you have one in your town? Mostly dogs, cats, ferrets, snakes, gerbils - whatever and always a service dog, police dog and police horse representing those services. One year we had an eagle from the Wildlife Refuge near here.
