Another week has flown past all of us and so has another month. Someone at work last night asked where Sept. has gone. It seems as tho it came and went so fast. Yet a lot has happened in the time it was here. The weather here has certainly changed.
Our eating has been pretty good. Last night when I got home from work, I didn't bring anything home with me, I had a med. apple with p. butter, some home cooked green beans, and a cup of hot chocolate made with vanilla soymilk and sf Swiss Miss. I ate a couple pieces of cinnamon graham crackers too. Those and grapes are my favorite walk-by snack. Breakfast this morning was rice pudding made with the vanilla soymilk and 1 duck egg, some WheyLow, flavorings, a handful or so of raisins, and about 2 cups of left over cooked brown rice, and some cantalope.
I'm a bit tired right now but then I haven't taken my morning meds yet. As soon as I take them and let them get into my system I'll feel much better. I still am taking 1500 mg. of Vit. C at least 3 times a day, but that means I don't take calcium as they cancel each other. I have the dogs out, birds are out but still need to be fed more, etc. I have washed a few days worth of dishes so that makes the kitchen look better. Lots of laundry to fold from the looks of the couch.
Do any of you pet owners have a product you use to remove cat and dog urine stains? I have a cat who I am sure just leaks a bit when she lays on the clothes on the couch. I try to keep her off and the clothes folded but I am not always successful. Who do I think I am fooling ? Some lay there for days. Several of my better clothes items have stains.
Kim, hang tight. You are right about the 224# just being a new starting point. Stay focused and tell yourself "I don't eat like that anymore" when tempted by no-no items. If you go out with friends, take your own sweeteners, flavorings if you want them, sf, lw or ff snacks if you don't think there will be anything safe. Be sure to tell friends and families about your renewed determination and insist on co operation from them. Especially until you are well established in the new routine and your will power is under better control.
I heard of a sign on someone's refrig. door that said "Does that food look better in there or on my body?" Maybe a lock of some sort on the door to make us work to get to that food. LOL Putting stumbling blocks out of sight helps to keep them out of our minds. We are what we eat is oh so true. Pebble posted some really good info last week. Smaller bites, smaller plates, cups, etc. all help too. It has been proven that we will eat what is put in front of us. So if we put smaller amounts in front of ourselves we will end up eating less. Measure and weigh potions. Stay within Am. Heart & Diabetes Associations recomendations. A friend said she heard about buying one or 2 Lean Cuisine meals, then wash and reuse the plates over and over until you are able to judge portions accurately without them. I think that is a good idea.
Debbie, Tricia, everyone else who is under the weather, please take your vitamins, eat right, don't overdo while you are still sick, and get well soon. Anna, I do pray your shoulder impoves soon. This pretty well ends competitions for you for a while doesn't it? I know that would be a real blow to you.
GOD bless and keep each of you.
