Love this shot. Your gardens are beautiful!
What a beauty spot in that garden!
Oh Pirl, after seeing your photos of your lobster rolls the other day, I bought 2 pounds of cleaned dungeness crab meat. HEAVEN! I do not know why I never thought to do that before. Last night Tom made crab rolls! I must say as good as lobster rolls. Well, maybe not lobster rolls on the Cape. But lobster here is not near as good as on the East coast. As I was eating mine with much gusto, I thought I should take a pic for Pirl but I was too busy chewing. THANKS for the idea!.
Try some bisque. I do love crab as well as lobster and shrimp. Hard not to love!
My MIL used to make incredible lobster bisque. I should try. She used to buy some fancy lobster something from somewhere for it. For Thanksgiving we went to a Southern restaurant and had she crab soup. WOW, that was so good! I cannot believe I am talking about food and drooling. Just cut me up and call me human kobe. Tonight I ate what was left of some fancy liver pate from a gift basket from D'Artagnan. OMG, the person that sent it wanted me dead. Heart attack in wicker. The foie gras was sinful. And of course I had to finish up the caviar I had ordered for my boy. He missed appetizers Christmas eve before we went out for dinner so I had lots leftover. He is the one that eats it by the spoonful. Then he would not bring it home for he is watching his weight. And I finished the crab tonight. Tom is cooking a beef tenderloin roast for dinner. We were supposed to have it Christmas but I switched to live crab at the last minute. I should just climb in to my casket now and save the funeral home the trouble. There is a reason I am so fat. Every single thing is loaded with cholesterol. I wonder if it would help if I took 2 statins tonight. LOL
LOL, and now my mouth is watering! And this thread started out so innocently. :-)
I sure hope Mygardens does not mind. I always admire what Pirl eats! And what she grows. LOL
Now I need to go find the lobster rolls.
Pirl posted delish pics on a photo in Plantfiles. I think it was one of hers.

Better find a real lobster roll to eat!

Kell - here's one many of us could repeat:
QUOTE FOR THE DAY:
"I could give up fine wine, chocolate, and rich food - but I'm no quitter."
LOL Pirl! So what do I say to Tom tonight, I want to go out to dinner! LOL I am sure no quitter.
Could you tell him you're allergic to eating at home tonight?
I am allergic every night. More allergic to cooking. I am in the mood for Thai.
That looks so good! Tonight is leftover catch as catch can night. No scallops for me. Shoot.
Another glorious photo. I copied it to my photo files as inspiration for a garden to be done over.
I'll trade you a lobster roll for one of your boulders!
Your sedum stays so well behaved while mine must be nearly 2' tall. Do you have a method to keep it so well mannered?
Hi pirl - Our property was foreclosed and has so many boulders on it that I just had to learn something about flowers to soften the landscape. I have gained much information here on DG. In my gardens I also found that rocks and boulders are like a raw canvas. Just tuck in some plants and they all seem to look good. As for the well-behaved sedum, I was told to pinch them back so that's what I did twice a year, but we have so many that I decided to do it later and only pinch them once. They look awful for about a week but then they grow quickly and they do behave. I also found that wherever I tossed the parts that I cut off, they seemed to root, so it became more like a lava flow than a sea of joy so I composted them, but they grew in the compost pile too!! But that's OK. Our honey bees like them a lot.
You have really done a fantastic job of featuring both the boulders and the plants. I will pinch them back and hope they look as good as yours do. I do know how they'll look after pinching but that is just temporary.
Many times I throw tiny pieces of plants into the compost bins and I'm always surprised at how eager they are to grow not only in the bins but even in between the bins, like the creeping Jenny shown in this collage of "compost plants".
I know what you mean about the creeping jenny. I have been using it as ground cover where I don't want to mow or weed. I have added extra Geranium robertianum and they look nice all year. You can see the combination at http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/332951/ . But I guess this is now a bit off-topic.
