Ficus dammaropsis

Hollywood, CA(Zone 9b)

I just received my "Dinner Plate Fig" that I ordered off of the internet, (Zone 9 Tropicals) and I am really pleased with the quality of plant that I got. I know this Ficus can be fussy. Anyone have advice on how to keep it happy. I plan on keeping it in my greenhouse for the winter.

Hey, I saw one of these just about a mile from you for sale at a nursery on Lincoln Ave... was ina 15 gal pot and affordable!! About 8' tall. You might check it out.. would give you a HUGE head start!

Are you sure that it was Ficus dammaropsis? I have seen and actually bought one of the Ficus auriculata that they sell there. Let me know I only live about 2 miles from there and if they do have the F. dammaropsis I will be there tomorrow, maybe I'll stop by anyway? ;-)

Thanks,

Yes it is... right next to the Rose Bowl.. I was tempted to get it myself, but have no room for that sized tree anymore.. also a tad marginal here where the winds howl (Santa Anas coming soon!). On Lincoln ave about a block from Orange ave

What is the name of the nursery? I went to Lincoln Ave. Nursery today and they didn't even know what this tree was, but they do have a beautiful 15 gal. Ficus auriculata (anyone interested?)
