San Antonio Plan Swap RU - Oct 15

Boerne new zone 30, TX(Zone 8b)

ok.. It is nearly time. here is a short version of the d-mail I sent everyone I knew about. If you didn't get a d-mail with directions please let me know...

Dave's Garden San Antonio Plant Swap is being held Sunday Oct 15th anytime after 10am to dark. Most people have said they will be there noonish. This will be held outside of Boerne, approx 19 miles north of SA off I10W, (directions to follow).

Bring plants, seeds or garden things to trade if you have them. If you don't have anything to trade do please come anyway for the fun and community with other gardeners in the area. Family and friends are welcome. There is plenty of room for children to play in the back 40 (please provide play clothes as I have never seen a child come back clean from the back 40! *giggle).

Please bring one dish of something to eat if at all possible. Water, Tea, & Coffee are provided.

If possible bring a door prize (also not required).

I have some chairs but not enough for everyone so if you have a fold-up chair please bring that also.

Those are some gorgeous Maximillian sunflowers Nada, are they yours?

That is where I got them from. Mine aren't quite as thick... and right now after the last rain they started falling over but generally yes... mine look like that.

Btw... does anyone coming to the Plant Swap want Fresh Rosemary for Cooking? I have to trim a bunch of mine and there is NO way I can use it all even with all the gift packets I make up every year for christmas presents. They make great presents for others too. They are organic. I don't use pesticides and I only use natural/organic fertilizers.

Make sure you bring a couple of plastic or paper bags and you can cut a bunch and take it home with you. I also have fennel and basil and sage and some other herbs that could use a cutting.

I got a plant to use as a door prize from one of the the local nurserys. This one isn't open on Sunday so she gave me cards and a plant to give everyone.

ok guys... it is less than a week away... please let me know what you are bringing for food so I make sure we have variety.

Any questions?

weather report has 20% rain but I don't think that will be a problem here.

I have a few tables but if anyone has any they want to bring go right ahead... We used a lot of tables at the dallas swap.

I will have a dolly available so you don't have to worry about that.

let me know... if enough people are interested in cedar mulch... I can get a truck load and people can bring garbage bags and fill up.

door prizes can be anything and it is so fun to give away something you don't need/use anymore but someone else might be able to use.

We are planning on coming, will bring a cake or sweet and 2 chairs, and the name tags if you need them.
