Just thought I'd let folks know that, according to the phone call I received today, the price for the seed kits have been reduced from $16 to $14 (shipping 4.95 vs old 5.95). I haven't checked their web site to see if this new price is listed or not... Just passing along the info.

Deborah,
Which site?

Oops, I should have referenced it. Here it is, Maggie.

Thanks, I couldn't find a Monarch Station.

Good to know the BF garden seeds are marked down at the Monarch site. We have had so much fun with our Butterfly Garden this year I hope everyone catches the Fever and plants a nice butterfly buffet for next season!
I am working on getting our butterfly garden certified by the Monarch Waystation folks and have been putting in plants and starting seeds according to these basic guidelines
https://shop.monarchwatch.org/certificate/waystationcert.aspx to make the most hospitable little BF garden.
I did read somewhere else that if you didn't have space for a full on garden, though, even a pot of milkweed and a few favorite nectar plants is a big boost to getting pretty butterflies into the garden.
I bought my seeds at a few different suppliers---and used these sites for reference and research last year along with the Monarch Watch and Journey North sites. And the Wintersowing forum has a couple of threads going about BF seed starting for next year's garden that I have found very helpful too.

I think DGers are always happy to share Milkweed seeds if they have them and anyone needs them so don't forget the trading forums!
I meant to order/apply for my Waystation sign before they actually started issuing them, and never did. I'm lame. Then I ended up not wanting to spend the money. Then I got frustrated with the stupid aphids last year and just poohed on the idea again. LOL I just started thinking about it again this week with us talking about tagging. I think subconsciously I think that the sign will put too much pressure on me to make my garden perfect. lol
Tabasco, thank you for the reference sites you listed above. You, and your garden pics, are an inspiration to all butterfly lovers!

LOL Well I thought I would apply for the certification and get the sign because my garden always looks a little chaotic with the range of BF plants I am trying out, and because I am always out there staring into my flowers like a madwoman looking for BFs and cats! (But thanks for the compliment on my garden, C.)
And the sign would explain to my neighbors what I'm doing all the time! (And perhaps get them interested in doing it--or at least have them stop getting their lawns sprayed for insects every month! )
I think there are a few good hints on the Monarch Watch list-- like having a couple of different MWs-- I hadn't thought of that.
