This space faces southwest and gets some pretty strong afternoon sun. The soil is acidic and very sandy, so it dries out quickly. I need something simple that requires low maintenance.
The rhododendron surrounded by pachysandra to the left of this space has to stay where it is (it's in front of the front porch). Some pachysandra is starting to come back in the empty space.
