Looking for Magnolia seeds

Yorkshire,

If anyone has magnolia seeds (any type) that they would like to trade, I would love to have some.
I have a long trade list and providing you don't mind sending to UK I would be happy to do a very worthwhile trade.
Please dmail me with what you have and for my trade list. Thanks!!

Terri... I just picked fresh this morning some Magnolia acuminata. The Cucumber Magnolia seeds. Got a few extra if you'd like to give them a try. Now they will look totally different from the Magnolia grandiflora " Little Gem" seeds. These are tiny and look kind a like a gray/black -silver heart shape.

The Cucumber Magnolia produces seeds pods that look like little fat baby cucumbers in the fall instead of that what I call fuzzy cone that some magnolias produce.

Yorkshire,

Thanks Starlight!! I have sent you a dmail :))

Terri

Yorkshire,

Bump

Anyone else have Magnolia seeds??
Thanks.

Yes I do Connie. Send me a dmail with your addy.

Orlando, FL

Yes, I have some we have a giant magnolia and I collected some seed for the first time.
I would like some of the little gem. I heard you can root cutting from Magnolia. I have a cutting of the little Gem now in water and am trying to get it to root. I do not like the giant Magnolia because if it giant leaves and want one with smaller leaves. D-mail me if you want the seeds I have. Fran

Terri, the 60's was great years, and the 70's were too... Don't ask about the 80's seems like that was the start of everything going down hill and just got worse. lol... Oh those nostalgia days :o)

Are you talking about Magnolia tree seeds?

Yorkshire,

Hi Makshi, I'm talking about absolutely any Magnolias really, trees or the lovely shrubs (Stellata??) I'd love to try growing any of them from seeds. It's something I've always wanted to do. I have this 'thing' about trees and shrubs with large showy flowers.

Terri,

I love trees myself but don't have much room so don't have much. I have one silly mulberry tree I grew from seed and keep draging it around when I have to move. I will try to find some of the magnolia seeds off of my two trees. I have not looked before so am not sure what I am looking for but will try.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

makshi, if you find them, I would love to try some. Let me know. Connie

Yorkshire,

Makshi, thank you so much!! I know what you mean regarding the mulberry tree, it's amazing how attached we can get to our plants. I think that if ever I have to move away from here I'll need a van for my bits and pieces and a removal truck for my plants (as well as a team of care-workers to make sure none of them get damaged, LOL)
Thank you for doing your best to help me in my quest. I truly appreciate it.

Terri,
I have picked some magnolia seeds at the UW-Madison arboretum
walking with my son last week end and still have them in my pocket.
They are Umbrellar and Star Magnolia. Let me know if you'd like them.

Yorkshire,
