I think it is Alocasia Frydek... ? anyone?

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9b)

Yes, and a beautiful example of one. No wonder it costs a Benjamin :)

I had to run out and check my Alocasia Lowii Veitchii. It's not quite as big yet. i don't know, here's a picture of mine. Yours may be a hybrid of Lowii. It's gorgeous!

It is a form of Loweii possible Veitchii as well. Their are many forms of Loweii but few are on the market.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

What a beauty.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Shoot, I should have bought it but I kill ears. Thanks for the info!!

Aroidgardener, do you grow yours outside in your humidity all year? Yours is a beauty!

Hey Linda, I was going to email you. Didn't you buy a medinilla last year for a steal?? How did it do? I just got one and do not want to kill it dead. It has to live inside my dining room all winter. Any advice?

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Not me Kell, I don't have medinilla (unless it goes by another name).

Kell,

I actually do grow all of my EE's outside, with the exception of Alocasia Rugosa. This was another form of Lowii that I had, but just lost the mother plant. I grew this one outside for 5 years with winter protection.
