Alocasia lauterbachiona. I picked this up at a local nursery a few weeks ago. I've done a google search on it and it came up with nothing. Of course, I forgot to take an over all pic of it, but it's growing in about a nursery gallon pot.
Leaves are a darker bluish green color. Stems are speckled brownish/burgundy with light to medium yellow green. Backside of leaves have a burgundy cast to them. Longest leaf so far is maybe a foot long or so with a petiole about the same (guesstimating). I don't have any idea of eventual size, though - all were about this size at the nursery.

Hey, Brian... heard of this one?
Forgot the basic point of my thread... just wondering if you (or anyone) has any information on this since nothing appears on the internet.
Thanks!
Carter I have about 50 lauterbachianas growing. This was not known as a alocasia when it was first discovered but put in a small group of aroids called Xenophya this group was later put into the alocasia section. Most have stripped stems and long narrow leaves. The sad but natural part that bothers me about this plant is that it naturally rots you heard me right. It will get huge then rot then all these hundreds of smaller plants will form and do the same. Its a odd cycle for a plant and in some cases when it rots it might be the last time you see it. I hope to breed these odd forms into some of the more easier forms to get something new in the future. But will have to wait and see I might have to up and move to Hawaii first.
